Tralee and Mike were married in Auburn on May 30, 2009. They weren’t really sure where the bird theme came from, but I have to say, it was so beautiful and subtle. It really added a natural element to the overall look of the wedding. Here are a couple pics I took myself and I’ll be adding more from the photographer, Sarah Maren, soon.
The Love Birds

July 16, 2009 by petalsblogHeather and Tom’s wedding on May 30th was really fun to work on. The wedding was at their beautiful home in downtown Sacramento and the weather was exceptionally amazing. They exchanged vows in their beautifully landscaped yard in front of this gorgeous, gerbera daisy arch. The reception area was creatively set up inside the home and everything looked so amazing. Here are a few of the pictures.
Sara and John- May 2, 2009
July 16, 2009 by petalsblogSara and John were married in Davis on May 2, 2009. The day was a little but cloudy and rainy, so their choice of vibrant hot pink and clover green flower centerpieces were a perfect choice to brighten up their day. I don’t have any of their professional pictures yet but I have a couple pictures of the centerpieces, courtesy of their coordinator, Kelly Hardin of Artistic Wedding and Event Planning. One super cute thing I have to mention…the table number cards were so adorable. Each card was numbered 1-15 and there was a corresponding picture of the bride and groom at that same age. For instance, table #1 had a groom pic at age 1 on one side, and a bride pic at age 1 on the other side. Table #2 had two-year-old pics, etc. etc. It was so fun to walk around and look at all the cards and pictures. I love when couples add those extra types of personal touches.
Karla and Gustavo’s wedding
April 29, 2009 by petalsblogOn Saturday, March 18th, I had the pleasure of designing the flowers for Karla and Gustavo’s wedding. They were married at the amazing Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament and their reception was on the 14th floor at the downtown Hyatt. The view from the 14th floor is breathtaking…our little city really is beautiful. Their colors were coral and sage green with accents of ivory. Karla’s bridal bouquet has to be one of my favorites so far. The flowers were actually very traditional because I only used ivory and white flowers, but the texture of everything together was so gorgeous. I used hydrangea, tulips, lisianthus, peonies, mini callas, sweet peas and stephanotis. The bridesmaids bouquets picked up more of the wedding colors with coral Asiatic lilies, sweet peas, hypericum berries and green spider mums. Their reception centerpieces were my very elegant pedestal bowls with twisted calla lilies, a floating candle, and coral and ivory rose petals sprinkled around the table with candles.
I want to thank Karla and Gustavo for allowing me to be a part of their amazing day and I wish them a lifetime of love and happiness. Congratulations you two!

blogging, blogging…1, 2, 3
March 2, 2009 by petalsblogWelcome to the first ever Party Petals blog. I realize that I’m about 5 years behind the times, but I am somewhat technology challenged. I’ve tried for about a year now to figure out how to set up a blog and I think it’s finally working now…better late than never. I’m really excited to be able to post events and pictures of things I’m working on and getting lots of feedback about it.
First of all, I need to thank my amazing husband, Jason, for everything he does for me. He is the sanity and organization behind my artistic craziness. I love you, Sweetie.
I participated in my second wedding show last weekend. It was the Dream Wedding Show at Cal Expo in Sacramento. The weather was not ideal, very rainy and stormy, the turnout still seemed pretty good. Gotta give it to brides…bad weather won’t stop them from a good wedding show:-) I’m attaching some pictures of the arrangements I made. I ended up making 6 bridal bouquets, 6 centerpieces and I even did a sweetheart table set-up that was pretty amazing. I used my tall 6-arm wire centerpiece decorated with curly willow, ruskus and a floral wreath at the bottom full of fall flowers and greenery. Adorable candle cups with hanging crystals hung from each of the arms. Each of the place settings had an open gift box with an arrangement inside to serve as a favor…so cute! My mom actually came up with that idea, thanks mom. The silverware was place on top of kermit mum “napkins.” The two chairs had hanging arrangements on the back. One was a cone covered with galax leaves with yellow cymbidium orchids at the top. The other arrangement was a bowl covered with horsetail and green cymbidium orchids at the top.
Thank you to everyone who attended the show and came by my booth to chat. I met a lot of great people and I’m looking forward to designing their wedding flowers.
